Angle Square
2 Angel Square, London, EC1V 1NY
Angle Sq Business Centre in Islington sits right above Angel tube (little known fact: this station has the Underground’s longest escalator at 60m/197ft, with a vertical rise of 27.5m. Not life changing, but still….)
Architect took a walk on the wild side with this building, introducing the Memphis movement as an inspiration for the design of the space. Angel is a softer, more subtle version of the Memphis design style, but still lots of fun. If you didn’t know about the Memphis movement it was started in Milan in the very early 1980’s and is about ‘…bright colours, bold forms and simplistic shapes’.
The building has individual offices as well as a large co-working and drop-in space and a range of meeting and conference rooms. On the outside, the entrance is on Upper St with probably the broadest selection of restaurants and eateries that you’ll find in London. And of course the tube couldn’t be nearer.
